The Role of Caring Concern

The purpose of Caring Concern is to provide carers to enable people to live in their own homes even though they have suffered some form of disabling illness be it Physical such as stroke etc or Psychological such as dementing illness where the memory is affected.

The company provides this service to our clientele by either private or Social Service funding.

In line with the government care in the community strategy we are employed to enable individuals to live out their lives in their own homes within the constraints of their ability.

We provide extra care to family carers who already provide care to their relatives. This can enable the family carer to have respite and rest from the strain of looking after a loved one.

Choice

• By providing care in the home we are enabling the client to make life decisions in their own familiar environments and among their relatives and friends.
• By providing care in the home situation clients can make simple choices daily such as what to wear or eat or drink, choices, which in Hospitals or Care Homes are prescribed and not always open to choice.

Community Presence

We enable the client to continue to participate in community life, and make it possible for their friends and relatives to be more involved in their life, a choice not always comfortable to people who visit friends / relatives in Hospitals or Care Homes.

Respect

• We enable clients to experience their valued place as part of a family and community which would be lost if the person was in Hospital or a Care Home.
